今回ご紹介する”Johnny Nash”のテイクは、
ストリングスが効いた、
Early ReggaeとReggaeのテイストを感じさせる、
World Marketを意識したアレンジとなっています。
B面は、同シンガーによる別曲。

クレジットには”M. Nash”と明記されていますので、
おそらく彼の奥さんの
“Margaret Nash”が作詞したものと思われます。

10代の頃に
地元テキサスやNew Yorkのテレビで子役で活躍し、
16歳の時に"A Special Kind Of Love"がヒット、
28歳の時にはあの有名な"Hold Me Tight"が
世界中で大ヒットします。
その後"Cupid"や"You Got Soul"等もヒットし、
インターナショナルシンガーとしての地位を獲得し、
プロデューサー・アレンジャー・ソングライターとしても
活躍しました。
両面良い感じです！
通常ですと、A面のカップリングは
“You Better Stop (Messing Around)”、
B面のカップリングは”Stir It Up”で、
今回ご紹介するこのレコードは
珍しいレアカップリングです。
日本ではなかなか見つからないと思います。
大名曲を別のテイクでかけたいという方や、
Rocksteady・Early Reggaeファンの方にも
是非チェックしてもらいたい1枚です。
